Summary

The job is for a Staff Engineer in Rula's Scheduling team, where the employee will shape the scheduling experience and contribute to product development. The role involves working on a backend-leaning project related to appointments between patients and providers, with a focus on increasing resilience by not being dependent on EHR uptime SLAs.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical groups
  • Backend experience building modern database-backed (SQL/no-SQL) web applications
  • Experience with microservice development
  • Experience mentoring others, reviewing architectures, and establishing design patterns
  • Experience driving all phases of the development lifecycle: planning, specing, execution, measuring success, and post-launch maintenance
  • Experience working on highly complex projects with a focus on achieving sustainable results

Responsibilities

  • Shape the scheduling experience and contribute to product development
  • Contribute directly to Rula's product and its development
  • Drive meaningful technical conversations and solution-oriented decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Start-up experience
  • Experience developing SaaS applications using the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform
  • Previous experience in products with high reliability/accuracy requirements (finance, mission-critical systems, etc.)
  • Experience with 'on-call' ability to deep dive into complex issues and drive them to resolution independently
  • Experience with NodeJs, Typescript, and Kafka
