Summary

Join Kaseya, a leading provider of IT infrastructure and security management solutions, and contribute to the advancement of our OpenStack product. Collaborate with the architecture team to design new features and capabilities, research and optimize our private cloud portfolio, and validate new OpenStack releases. Integrate security and compliance requirements, enhance deployment automation, and support the SRE team for L3 escalations. This role requires expertise in engineering processes, systems thinking, and data-driven decision-making, along with extensive OpenStack and Linux experience. Preferred qualifications include proficiency in scripting languages, experience with Ansible and CI/CD tools, and knowledge of testing methodologies. Requirements

  • Expertise in Engineering processes:  deliver a service that meets requirements from a specification, test and validate the product, optimize configuration, and enable production deployment
  • Systems thinking:  the ability to understand and address complex problems by understanding relationships within an interconnected system rather than just its individual parts
  • Data-driven decision making:  the capability to define metrics for success and failure, to design systems and processes to test and gather relevant data needed to decide, and the willingness to let data guide decision making rather than relying on existing biases
  • Expertise with OpenStack (+ 7 Years)
  • Expert Linux knowledge
  • Experience automating infrastructure including bare-metal provisioning

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Architecture on designing new features and capabilities for our OpenStack product
  • Research software, hardware, and other technologies in support of advancing our private cloud portfolio
  • Optimize the cost, availability, performance, and developer experience of our OpenStack environment
  • Validate new OpenStack releases through a combination of automated functional and performance testing
  • Integrate evolving security and compliance requirements into new OpenStack environment releases
  • Continue to evolve and enhance our existing deployment automation capabilities
  • Support SRE team for L3 escalations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Bash, Python or Go, including ability to write basic scripts/software
  • Experience writing Ansible playbooks and openstack-ansible
  • Prior experience and knowledge of Git and peer-review workflow
  • Experience with CI/CD tools
  • Knowledge of testing tools and techniques
  • Experience with managing servers, data centers, networking, and security
  • Prior experience with Ceph/ZFS storage
  • Experience with component integration using APIs and SDKs
  • Prior contributions to open-source software
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to learn by asking questions and showing initiative to learn
  • Ability to actively participate in team meetings, providing accurate and complete status updates
  • Experience and enthusiasm for mentoring colleagues
  • AI and MML experience are a plus
