Summary
Join Meteor's Strategic Sourcing department as the Strategic Bids & Contracts Team Manager, a hands-on leadership role managing a small team and personally executing complex bid and contract processes for educational furnishings and services. You will lead the end-to-end development of solicited bid responses, collaborating with Sales leadership and stakeholders to ensure timely and competitive submissions. Responsibilities include proposal creation, reporting and analysis, maintaining contract records, and ensuring system updates. The ideal candidate possesses strategic thinking, attention to detail, cross-functional coordination skills, and the ability to mentor a high-performing team. This is a remote position (USA only) offering a competitive salary of $80k-$85k. The role requires travel to Gainesville, FL for an initial in-person orientation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Supply Chain, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a proposals/contracts, sales operations, or bid management role
- Proven experience developing responses to public sector bids (RFPs, RFQs, ITBs)
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and clarity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
- Comfortable reading and interpreting legal and commercial terms in solicitation documents
- Ability to collaborate across functions and levels of the organization
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Strategic Bids & Contracts team, setting clear priorities and ensuring the team meets deadlines with high-quality outputs
- Actively participate in writing, compiling, and editing bid and proposal responses for educational furnishings and services
- Coordinate input from cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations, and Suppliers) to ensure comprehensive and compliant submissions
- Oversee bid tracking, reporting, and analysis throughout the full contract lifecycle
- Ensure accurate documentation and updates of bids, contracts, and related data within internal systems
- Partner with Sales leadership to develop and refine the company’s bids and contracts strategy
- Maintain a calendar of upcoming solicitations and due dates and drive continuous improvement in the bid response process
- Review solicitation documents for relevance, requirements, and alignment with company capabilities
- Support compliance with pricing policies, legal terms, and other internal standards
- Assist with supplier coordination and sourcing communication as needed
- Lead the creation of pricing structures and sell prices to ensure margin quality
- Assist with customer contracts and bonding requirements
