Strategic Finance Associate

Summary

Join Whatnot's Finance Team as an International Strategic Finance Associate to help define the company's position by partnering cross-functionally with business units to evaluate key questions, tackle problems, and drive results.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity / VC, consulting or strategic finance at a fast-paced tech company
• Exceptional financial modeling skills with the ability to tackle ambiguous problems and produce elegant and insightful analyses
• Experience building and maintaining complex financial models reflecting operational business dynamics
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to partner cross-functionally, influence, and communicate financial concepts to all business partners

Responsibilities

• Own financial reporting and forecasting for our international businesses, focusing on top-line metrics (GMV and Revenue), Gross Profit, and Contribution Margin
• Act as a business partner to cross-functional teams (Category Expansion, International Operations, Marketing, Engineering), leading strategic financial modeling and evaluating business opportunities
• Evaluate and support Pricing and Promotions initiatives across the international business by deeply understanding and analyzing their financial implications
• Own and drive strategic profitability levers , transforming operational and financial data into actionable financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making
• Shape the financial strategy for our international markets , working closely with leadership to drive growth in new and existing regions and directly impact our global expansion strategy
• Take ownership of high-impact initiatives , acting as a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to influence key business decisions and work cross-functionally to support long-term profitability
