Summary
Join our client, a residential real estate development company, as a Structural Engineer. Contribute your expertise to the structural integrity of high-quality homes and innovative designs. You will perform structural engineering design, analysis, and calculations, collaborate with various teams, and ensure compliance with building codes. This fast-paced role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience, a PE or SE license (or ability to obtain one), and proficiency in structural design software. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in residential or mixed-use developments
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) in Oregon, or ability to obtain licensure within six months
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar tools)
- Thorough understanding of local and national building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, and ACI standards
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects, and meeting tight deadlines
Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering design, analysis, and calculations for residential and mixed-use developments
- Prepare and review structural drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and engineering principles
- Collaborate closely with architects, designers, project managers, and construction teams to deliver cost-effective and structurally sound designs
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments during various construction phases to ensure adherence to design specifications and structural safety
- Provide solutions for structural challenges and recommend modifications or repairs as necessary
- Work with permitting agencies to ensure timely approval of designs
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for structural systems and components
- Stay current with advancements in structural engineering, materials, and construction technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and construction practices
