Summary
Join Assystem, a leading international company accelerating the energy transition, as a Principal Structural Engineer. Reporting to the Civils/Structures Design Manager, you will manage and review design packages for dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects within the marine sector. This role involves collaborating with multi-discipline teams, ensuring design integration, and adherence to standards, schedules, and budgets. You will also be responsible for project planning, risk assessment, and documentation. This is a remote position with occasional travel to Plymouth. Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelorโs degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
- Experience working on major new buildings, preferably multi-storey buildings with multi-functionality, e.g. hospitals, or experience working on new or refurbishment of dock structures
- Candidates must be sole UK nationals and able to gain SC clearance
Responsibilities
- Manage the multidisciplinary design elements of the structures, ensuring designer technical performance and making appropriate technical responses
- Provide Technical design guidance and review integration of the designs with other design packages
- Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget
- Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and effectively contributing to the projectโs technical planning process
- Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied
- Ensure that staff and contractors are familiar with the hazards and risks associated with the work undertaken by the consultant team through effective management and communication of the Risk Assessment
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status
- Experience in seismic structural design
