Join Education Unlimited® as a Neuroanatomy Camp Instructor and share your passion for science with high school students! Instructors will lead engaging, hands-on summer programs, teaching the provided curriculum and supervising students in both in-person and online settings. Responsibilities include organizing and leading classroom labs, creating a final showcase of student work, and tracking student progress. Instructors will also assist with supervision, recreational activities, and administrative tasks, acting as mentors and guiding students on field trips. Opportunities are available for both in-person and online instruction at various locations, including UC Berkeley, UCLA, Stanford, and online. Instructors may choose to commute daily or stay overnight at some locations, with full room and board provided for overnight stays.
Requirements
- Have 2+ years' experience teaching neuroanatomy or significant subject matter knowledge
- Have experience working with high school age students in an academic setting
- Have a Bachelor's degree (preference given to those with an advanced degree)
- Possess a passion for science education
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor
- Be self-motivated and follow through
- Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Be a year-round science teacher, be studying science at the graduate level, or have some other significant teaching/mentoring experience in the area of neuroanatomy
Responsibilities
- Teach the Education Unlimited curriculum
- Supervise campers online (for online camps)
- Supervise campers both in and out of the classroom (for in-person camps)
- Organize and lead classroom labs
- Execute a finale showcasing student work at the end of camp
- Track student work and hand in any deliverables to the camp director and EU home office
- Assist the camp director with active supervision, recreational activities, and some administrative tasks
- Act as mentors and assist with field trips and guide students on excursions
- Ensure the health and safety of students
- Help with evening supervision duties (for overnight programs)
