Middle School Science Instructor

Summary

Join Education Unlimited® as a Science Camp Instructor and lead engaging summer programs for students in grades 4-12. We offer various science-focused camps, including Genetics, Cardiology, Anatomy/Physiology, and Marine Science. Instructors will teach curriculum, supervise students, conduct labs, and organize a final showcase of student work. Residential, online, and commuter options are available, with housing and meals provided for in-person sessions. Successful candidates will have 2+ years of science teaching experience, a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred), and a passion for science education.

Requirements

• Be a year-round science teacher, be studying science at the graduate level, or have some other significant teaching/mentoring experience in the scientific field they want to teach
• Have 2+ years' experience science teaching experience or significant subject matter knowledge
• Have experience working with middle, high school or college age students in an academic setting
• Have a Bachelor's degree
• Have a passion for science education
• Possess a calm and professional demeanor
• Be self-motivated and have good follow-through
• Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Teach the Education Unlimited curriculum
• Supervise campers both in and out of the classroom
• Organize and lead classroom labs
• Execute a finale showcasing student work at the end of camp
• Track student work and hand in any deliverables to the camp director and EU home office
• Assist the camp director with active supervision, recreational activities, and some administrative tasks
• Act as mentors and assist with field trips and guide students on excursions
• Ensure the health and safety of students, in addition to fulfilling instructional objectives
• Help with evening supervision duties
