Summary

Join Fictiv, a leading technology company transforming the manufacturing industry, as a Supplier Quality Engineer. You will support and improve our US manufacturing partner network, providing on-site and remote support. Leverage your supplier quality engineering background in mechanical hardware production to resolve issues and drive continuous improvements. This hands-on role involves regular travel and collaboration with internal teams and external partners. Requirements

  • 5 years of experience working with suppliers, preferably in mechanical parts
  • Be a results-oriented, self-directed SQE who uses a process approach when collaborating with manufacturing partners
  • Be comfortable holding manufacturing partners accountable when necessary
  • Have a record of data-based decision-making, demonstrating the ability to make timely decisions with limited data
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate successfully with manufacturing partners and customers
  • Have strong time management and organizational skills for efficient remote work at manufacturing partner sites
  • Have good knowledge of quality management system requirements such as ISO 9001 and AS9100
  • Ability to travel 51 percent of the time

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new manufacturing partners, collaborating with Fictivโ€™s Strategic Sourcing Team to assess their ability to deliver quality parts on time
  • Develop existing manufacturing partners by establishing processes to meet customer-specific requirements
  • Establish control plans to build quality in, rather than relying on final inspection
  • Use Fictivโ€™s supplier maturity model and manufacturing partner scorecards to plan improvement activities
  • Resolve nonconformances with manufacturing partners by coaching them in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to strengthen the network of manufacturing partners and disseminate best practices
  • Improve Fictivโ€™s quality management system to build customer confidence in our manufacturing partner management processes
  • Work with counterparts in China to standardize best practices and leverage lessons learned
  • Advocate for the customer, representing their voice at manufacturing partner sites
