Summary

Join Collective's Tax team as a trusted advisor and skilled tax accountant, managing your own portfolio of clients and providing high-impact guidance. You will play a key role in driving customer satisfaction and business success, acting as a bridge between tax leadership and junior team members. This position requires understanding the challenges of self-employment and a passion for working in a collaborative environment. You will prepare, review, and file personal and business tax returns for clients, while also building and leading a team of emerging tax professionals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with S corporations and possess strong interpersonal and technical skills. Requirements

  • CPA or Enrolled Agent, with 5+ years of hands-on experience working with S corporations
  • 2+ years of relevant tax experience
  • 5+ years preparing and reviewing Forms 1120, 1120S, and 1040
  • Proven track record of signing off on tax returns
  • Experience serving 10+ self-employed or small business clients (under $1M in revenue)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with self-employed professionals across industries
  • Tech-savvy and quick to learn and teach new tools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional workstreams
  • Proficient in UltraTax, GoSystems (or similar tax software), QuickBooks Online, Gusto, Salesforce, and G Suite

Responsibilities

  • Understand our clients’ financial background, financial goals, help them identify optimization opportunities, help them make a decision on reasonable salary, train them on quarterly checks, quarterly estimates and how Collective works
  • Minimal client facing responsibilities
  • Prepare, review and help to sign off and file member’s personal and business returns
  • Build and lead a team of emerging Tax professionals taking responsibility for their day to day tasks, success, and failure ensuring their continuous growth
  • Mentor, train and provide feedback to junior tax staff on the team
  • Effectively communicate updates or changes across the organization and partner with stakeholders
