Summary
Join Vultr's Accounting and Finance team as a Tax Manager and collaborate with the Global Tax Director and external advisors to prepare and file tax returns, tax position papers, and transfer pricing documentation. Manage U.S. federal and state tax provision workpapers, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Serve as the primary contact for state tax notices, responding to inquiries and managing audits. Oversee sales, use, and property tax compliance. Proactively identify and implement global tax planning strategies. Requirements
- 5+ years of tax accounting experience at the senior or manager level, in either public accounting or a corporate tax department
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a Master’s in Taxation preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and partnership/corporate tax compliance and reporting
- Proficient with tax software and Microsoft Office applications
- Detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at managing multiple deadlines and solving complex problems
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Global Tax Director and external advisors to prepare, review, and file U.S. federal and state income tax returns, tax position papers, and transfer pricing documentation
- Prepare and manage U.S. federal and state tax provision workpapers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards
- Serve as the primary point of contact for state tax notices, responding to inquiries and managing state tax audits
- Oversee sales tax, use tax, and property tax compliance, coordinating with both internal stakeholders and external preparers to ensure timely and accurate filings
- Proactively assist in identifying and implementing global tax planning strategies to support the company’s overall business objectives
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license and/or Big 4 experience a plus, or a proven track record of success in corporate tax roles
- Familiarity with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) highly preferred
