Join roadsurfer as a Team Lead - Backend to play a key role in expanding their Spots platform. Lead the backend team technically and organizationally, acting as the main technical counterpart for stakeholders. Drive system refactoring and decoupling for scalability and flexibility. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in PHP backend development with deep knowledge of Symfony
  • Architectural skills and experience leading complex backend projects
  • Comfortable working in and evolving an existing codebase with a pragmatic, quality-first mindset
  • Proficient in SQL and relational databases (e.g. MySQL)
  • Experience mentoring other developers and supporting their growth
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to drive initiatives from concept to production
  • Fluency in English and a collaborative, team-oriented approach

Responsibilities

  • Lead the backend team both technically and organizationally - from mentoring developers to setting priorities and aligning with product and business goals
  • Act as the main technical counterpart for our Product Owner and other stakeholders
  • Drive the ongoing refactoring and decoupling of our systems to unlock greater scalability, flexibility, and developer happiness
  • Develop integrations with external systems to onboard large campsites and design developer-friendly APIs that power our mobile app
  • Ensure code quality, automated testing, and documentation to keep our systems reliable and maintainable
  • Guide architectural decisions and contribute to a culture of thoughtful, forward-looking engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Pimcore and/or CoreShop
  • Knowledge of frontend technologies
