Technical Animator

Summary

The job is for a Senior Technical Animator at Wilder World, working on their 3D motor racing game in Wiami. The role involves ownership of the vehicle pipeline, problem-solving, troubleshooting, creating and maintaining various aspects of Unreal Engine, and collaboration with other teams.

Requirements

• Experience with AAA MMO games
• Rigging portfolio/showreel
• Strong knowledge of Maya, Blender and Unreal 5
• Expertise in vehicle rigging, animation systems, integration for Unreal, and ability to adapt to custom engines and tools
• Ability to effectively create and implement space-switching, IK matching, IK/FK blends, blend shapes, and spline/ribbon-based controls
• A comprehensive understanding of the dependencies between vehicle modeling, animation, and rigging
• At least 3 years’ experience in game development or film/TV as a rigger/character TD
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with artists and engineers
• Commitment to completing tasks on time

Responsibilities

• Ownership of Vehicle (plus ideally some character) pipeline from rigging and skinning to Unreal implementation
• Problem-solve and troubleshoot vehicle and animation issues
• Create and maintain suspension, doors, bonnets, rigid body physics, and animation blueprints in Unreal Engine
• Collaborate with the Vehicle artists and vehicle physics integration artists, animator, and gameplay programmers to ensure assets are properly implemented in engine
