Summary

Join Version 1, a leading technology services company, as a Technical Architect. Design and architect scalable, maintainable, and efficient technical solutions using Java, AWS, and DB2. Integrate AWS services like Lambdas, Step Functions, and S3. Manage databases, develop batch processing systems, and ensure code quality through reviews and testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers. This role requires 10+ years of Java development experience, 3+ years of AWS experience, and 5+ years of relational database experience (preferably DB2).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience of 10+ years working as a Java Developer in product development or services environment
  • Minimum 3+ years of work experience in AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda function, Step-functions, Event Bus, etc
  • Minimum 5+ years of work experience with relational databases (e.g., DB2, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Preferably experience with DB2, including the ability to write complex joins and performance troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect technical solutions that meet business requirements and are scalable, maintainable, and efficient
  • AWS Integration: Utilize AWS services including Lambdas, Step Functions, Event Bus, and S3 to build and deploy cloud-based solutions, ensuring high availability and scalability
  • Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, write complex SQL queries, and optimize database performance
  • Batch Processing: Develop and manage batch processing systems to handle large volumes of data efficiently
  • Code Quality: Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and adherence to best practices
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, QA engineers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with batch processing frameworks and tools
  • Minimum of 2 years is nice to have
