Summary

Join Envorso as a key contact for Ford Motor Company's Vehicle Electrical/Embedded Software Team. This hybrid role (3 days/week in the office) requires leading the team through engineering gateways and launch phases, ensuring successful program execution. You will be the single point of contact, collaborating with multiple teams to ensure seamless coordination and delivery. Responsibilities include leading the team, overseeing ECU hardware and software management, supporting the DV process, providing prototype and launch support, conducting root cause analysis, representing the team in program forums, and communicating with stakeholders. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Software Engineering and strong experience in managing cross-functional teams in a vehicle electrical/embedded software engineering environment. Location is Dearborn, MI (must reside in metro Detroit) with up to 20% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Electrical and/or Software Engineering
  • Strong experience in managing cross-functional teams in a vehicle electrical/embedded software engineering environment
  • Expertise in ECU hardware/software sourcing, release, and validation processes
  • Familiarity with SW Change Control, AIMS, Jira, and other issue management systems
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects, ensuring on-time delivery and quality outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly represent the team in various forums and meetings
  • Experience with prototype builds, pre-launch, and launch phases, including managing part deliveries and build issues
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to deal with ambiguity

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Vehicle Electrical/Embedded Software Team, ensuring all engineering work aligns with program objectives and is completed on time and with the highest quality
  • Oversee the sourcing, release, validation, and delivery of ECU hardware and software to meet program timelines. Ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and manage changes SW Change Control processes
  • Facilitate requirement classification, test planning, vehicle requests, and reporting for the Design Verification (DV) process. Ensure accurate and timely test results
  • Act as the main point of contact for Prototype Build and Launch Teams, ensuring smooth part deliveries and resolving functional and build issues. Lead ECU part and vehicle updates for all pre-production builds
  • Identify and drive corrective actions for engineering issues using issue management systems such as AIMS and Jira. Keep Management informed and actively contribute to issue resolution
  • Represent the Electrical/Embedded Software Team in key program forums, Design reviews, and milestone reviews. Organize and lead meetings to track deliverables and resolve issues
  • Meet regularly with the PMT Leader to review and prioritize functional deliverables and escalate issues when necessary
