Technical Trainer I

Summary

Join Inductive Automation as a Technical Trainer I and deliver engaging technical training courses on Ignition software. You will be responsible for developing and delivering course materials, maintaining the certification system, and providing technical assistance. This full-time position offers remote, hybrid, and on-site work options. The role involves communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and ensuring effective virtual classroom environments. You will also contribute to the development and maintenance of training materials and assist with other training projects. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and has 2+ years of experience in instructional development or delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Instructional field OR at least 4 years of relevant technical education experience
• 2+ years experience with classroom and eLearning instructional development or delivery
• Must be able to convey a large variety of technical concepts clearly and succinctly
• Positive interpersonal and communication skills, including writing and speaking skills
• Familiarity with a programming language (Python, Java, C++, etc)
• Familiarity with SQL
• Ability to write effective documentation for processes and procedures
• Enthusiasm for teaching

Responsibilities

• Delivering customer facing beginner level Ignition training courses that effectively transfer knowledge and actively engage the students
• Delivering training courses in a specified time zone
• Communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Ensuring virtual classroom environments are prepared and maintained for effective delivery
• Continuing to build Ignition knowledge beyond the ability to handle all customer questions in beginner classes
• Providing learning resources and guidance to employees throughout the company as needed
• Administering Ignition certification and assisting with any certification issues from IA staff or customers
• Assisting with other Training projects or tasks as assigned by their supervisor
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of training materials as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ignition is a plus
• Experience teaching programming classes is a plus
