Summary

This role, a Telecommunications Installer (Level IV), is 100% remote with overnight travel to customer sites in the Southeast region. The position involves circuit modifications, power transition operations, and testing power system equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of six years of experience in DC power equipment installation, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in DC power equipment installation
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook / Excel / Word
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 100% and willingness to work different shifts (swing shifts)
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs
  • Ability to operate motorized lift equipment to maneuver, install or remove 80-750 lb. batteries
  • Frequently pushing or pulling of cables up to 60 lbs
  • Frequently climbing ladders up to 8 ft
  • Frequently working/standing on ladders for long periods of time
  • Continuous standing
  • Frequently reaching above, below or at shoulder level
  • Frequently bending, twisting, or stooping
  • Frequently crouching or squatting
  • Be exposed to varying environments with moderate noise levels, nominal variations in heat and cold

Responsibilities

  • The Telecommunications Installer (Level IV) will work on circuit modifications, power transition operations, addition, and removal of circuits on working power distribution sources, power system equipment test and turn-up, overseeing volatile work activities and performing Site Supervisors responsibilities on a job site
  • Troubleshooting based on experience and judgment is required to plan and accomplish goals, complete tasks, and solve key customer issues in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Prior field engineering experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Electrical degree, certificate, or apprenticeship
  • AC Electrical experience
