Summary

Join Forbes as a temporary journalist to contribute to the annual Forbes 30 Under 30 2025 list. This paid position offers opportunities to write and report for Forbes.com, focusing on identifying and profiling exceptional young leaders in various industries. You will be responsible for contacting industry groups, conducting interviews, verifying candidate information, writing compelling bios, and generating story ideas. This 6-month assignment requires up to 25 hours per week and may be extended.

• This position is only open to candidates residing in California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, & Washington

Responsibilities

• Each reporter will be assigned to join a team that will focus on a specific industry (ie: AI, Media & Marketing, Finance)
• Contacting industry groups, networking organizations and other sources to solicit their nominations for the list and conducting interviews both in-person & virtually
• Contacting trusted sources to help identify the most qualified and interesting people for the list
• Verifying biographical and business information about each candidate through the emailing of a detailed survey and also through original reporting
• Writing sharp, compelling bios that highlight unique aspects of each person on our list
• Fact-checking the bios
• Uploading edited bios into the Forbes database
• Collecting updated high-resolution headshots from some of the candidates
• Generating story ideas to report, write and publish alongside the completed list

Preferred Qualifications

Creative thinking and/or brainstorming abilities are a big plus; we don't repeat people on the list so are in constant search of new sources to fill the pool of candidates

Benefits

• The hourly rate for this role is $25.00 - $45.00
