Summary

Epic Games is seeking a Game Tester to join their Fortnite Mobile QA team. The tester will execute test cases, investigate and analyze issues, write clear bug reports, communicate issues, and provide reporting on testing results. Required qualifications include technical software skills, excellent communication skills, experience with gaming consoles and mobile devices, and experience encountering issues in software. Nice-to-have skills include experience testing software within a structured QA team, experience using plastic peripherals for games, exposure to the software development life cycle, and familiarity with game engines such as Unreal or Unity.

Requirements

• Technical software or troubleshooting skills (degree in Computer Science or equivalent, self-taught, or relevant experience)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Gaming Consoles and/or Mobile Devices
• Experience with Mobile titles
• Experience encountering issues/bugs in software, and communicating those issues in a clear and concise way
• Experience logging defects in bug tracking systems such as Jira

Responsibilities

• Execute test cases with attention to detail to help ensure the quality of several products
• Thoroughly investigate and analyze issues to help find root causes
• Write clear and concise steps to reproduce issues in a bug report
• Communicate issues and escalate if needed by understanding the larger goals of the product
• Provide reporting on blocking issues, testing results, and quality status to members of QA and other members of the development team as needed
