Trademark Paralegal

Summary

Join Unity's IP Legal Team as a temporary part-time IP Paralegal (~15 hours/week, mid-December to late April). Partner with engineering and product development teams to manage rights acquisition and clearance for Unity's products. Assist with trademark portfolio management, copyright registrations, and enforcement of IP rights. Collaborate with outside counsel and key stakeholders. Success requires experience in copyright, trademark, and trade secrets, along with strong legal skills and technology acumen. This role involves managing takedown processes and performing IP clearance for pre-commercialization products and services.

Requirements

• Paralegal with proven experience in one or more of the following
• Foundational knowledge in trademarks and copyrights
• Experience in trademark clearance, searches, enforcement
• IP portfolio management (including invoice tracking and approval) experience

Responsibilities

• Work with the IP Team, key business stakeholders, and outside counsel to manage Unity's trademark portfolio and copyright registrations
• Be the primary contact for inbound and outbound takedown processes
• Perform IP clearance work for pre-commercialization products and services

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with trademark search tools and brand management vendors, such as Tracer™
• Previous copyright application deposit preparation, and/or domain name registration and management experience
• Familiarity with basic patent law concepts
• Prior in-house experience working with software and/or game development
