Summary
Join TKDA's growing Traffic group as a Professional Engineer, Civil - Traffic! This remote position, based in the Milwaukee or Madison, WI area, supports projects in Minnesota with occasional travel (10-15%). You will lead traffic-related design and plan development, conduct analyses using simulation software, and collaborate with engineers and designers. The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of experience, a PE license (MN or ability to obtain), and strong CADD and Microsoft Office skills. This role offers the chance to expand TKDA's Wisconsin portfolio and contribute to complex transportation infrastructure projects.
Requirements
- Located in the Milwaukee, WI or Madison, WI metro areas
- Bachelorβs Degree in Civil Engineering
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of related experience
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota or ability to obtain within six months of employment
- Experience or interest in projects related to design and/or plan development for roundabouts, traffic signals, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, signing, striping, and lighting
- Strong working knowledge and previous experience with CADD software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to write descriptive and technically accurate specifications and reports; Ability to participate in or lead project team meetings and client consultations
Responsibilities
- Lead traffic related design and plan development (roundabouts, traffic signals, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, signing, striping, and lighting)
- Conduct analyses using simulation and modeling software
- Create production of plans, specifications and cost estimates
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians generating safe and efficient designs for complex transportation infrastructure systems for the Department of Transportation, local agencies, and design-build contractors
Preferred Qualifications
- PTOE Certification or interest in attaining PTOE Certification
- Previous Design-Build experience
- Previous experience in developing and evaluating transportation system and corridor alternatives
- Previous experience with traffic operations analysis, forecasting, and modeling
- Working knowledge of traffic analysis software (Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, etc.)
- Previous Project Management and Business Development experience
