Summary

Join our team as Imbabura Highland Quichua Transcriber and contribute to research for talk-to-text technology by transcribing audio files in our online database. You will be responsible for listening to audio files, typing what you hear, and labeling segments according to provided guidelines. The workload is dependent on project needs, and you will be paid per minute of audio transcribed.

Requirements

• Native-level (C2) proficiency in Imbabura Highland Quichua, also known as Imbabura Kichwa or Otavalo Quichua, including the ability to read and write
• Excellent grammar/ orthography and punctuation in Imbabura Highland Quichua. You will be required to take a test
• Have an Upwork profile or be willing to create an Upwork profile
• High-speed internet access
• Access to e-mail

Responsibilities

• Transcribe all assigned audio files
• Follow project guidelines
• Meet project deadlines
• Make consistent progress on assigned audio files
• Communicate with project managers in a timely and effective manner
• Communicate in English with project managers via email (verbal communication is not required)
