Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in transport network engineering, with a strong focus on DWDM, dark fiber, and carrier negotiation
- Education: Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus
- Technical Skills: Expertise in network architecture design, DWDM technologies, dark fiber provisioning, and network management. Familiarity with network management tools and protocols
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to long-term planning and network development
Responsibilities
- Network Architecture Design: Develop and implement advanced network architectures, focusing on DWDM and dark fiber technologies, to support organizational needs and growth
- Project Oversight: Lead and manage complex transport network projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and successful delivery
- Carrier Negotiation: Negotiate with carriers for fiber and transport services to secure optimal terms and conditions
- Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on network design and optimization, applying best practices and innovative solutions
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure project milestones and service agreements are met
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, project progress, and technical specifications. Prepare and present regular reports to stakeholders and senior management
- Troubleshooting: Address and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the long-term planning of network infrastructure, identifying opportunities for enhancements and cost efficiencies
- Compliance: Ensure all network designs and projects comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards
