UI Artist

Summary

Join Lakshya Digital as a UI Artist and contribute to the creation of engaging game UI elements. This freelance, remote position (within PST-EST) offers a competitive hourly rate ($40-$50 CAD). You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, designing visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces and HUDs. The ideal candidate possesses strong artistic fundamentals, a player-focused mindset, and proficiency in relevant software. Reporting to the Producer, you will be responsible for creating and implementing various interface assets, maintaining a consistent artistic standard, and collaborating effectively with team members.

Requirements

• Proficiency in video game editing and development tools
• Experience in visual design or a related field
• Strong work ethic, self-direction, and artistic vision
• Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
• Understanding of usability principles and information architecture
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with team members across multiple disciplines

Responsibilities

• Create and implement interface assets, including menus, HUDs, icons, animations, and more
• Interact and collaborate with team members from different disciplines (design, programming, art) on prototypes, focusing on the user experience
• Create mood boards, mockups, and other simple prototypes to consolidate the visual direction and design intentions
• Develop, apply, and maintain a consistent artistic standard across the entire game

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) and interest in Unreal Engine 5 (UE5)
• A keen eye for UX design and a passion for visual communication
• Highly creative and innovative spirit
