Summary

Join 31st Union as a Senior Tools Engineer (Automation) and empower content creators by building and improving tools and pipelines, focusing on automation systems. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience having shipped at least one AAA console or PC title
  • Proven programming experience on commercial software projects using C++ (C experience a plus)
  • Skilled in collaborating with content creators to iterate on tools, including UI design and artist workflows
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine: Automation, Gauntlet, and multiplayer basics
  • Self-motivated, able to drive projects to completion, and quickly learn new areas of development
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative approach across game development disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Work with the art, design, and audio departments to design and create new tools based on the changing needs of the project
  • Improve, design and maintain automation systems, automated testing pipelines and associated tooling to support rapid iteration and stable builds
  • Optimize pipelines and tools to reduce iteration time for content teams
  • Create and maintain documentation of all tools and their usage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in C# / ASP.NET Core / WPF
  • Experience developing for game consoles and in-depth knowledge of game content pipelines
  • Proficient with Perforce, bug-tracking software, and tools like 3D Studio MAX, MaxScript, Maya, and MEL
  • Experience with databases

Benefits

  • The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $120,000 and 160,000 per year
  • Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits
