Join Softjourn's internal talent pool as a Middle Strong UI/UX Designer (contractor) for upcoming projects. This part-time role offers potential for full-time employment and contributes to various project phases, from discovery and prototyping to product design. Softjourn is a full-cycle consulting and software development company with over 20 years of experience. The position requires 3+ years of professional design experience, strong Figma skills, and a systems-level understanding of service delivery. You will design user interfaces, create design assets, and collaborate with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of UX, proficiency in design tools, and excellent communication skills.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in design
- Strong knowledge of Figma
- A systems-level understanding of all the solution parts (technical systems, frontline employees, touchpoints, etc.) that go into delivering a service, coordinated to support customer journeys
- Demonstrated experience and high-level proficiency in visual design, such as layout, color, typography, and interaction
- Deep understanding of all UX aspects with a pulse on the latest developments
- General knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
- Having a portfolio of design capabilities
- Ability to understand and articulate visual design concepts, methodologies, processes, and ability to leverage solutions based on project constraints
- Thorough understanding of the challenges of complex web and native mobile experiences
- Experience in Wireframing and prototyping
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools for user interface design and prototyping
- Ability to clearly present and articulate design decisions, participate in peer design critiques, and incorporate feedback into the next iteration
- Understanding of Service design
- Knowledge and usage of platform guidelines and patterns (web, mobile, desktop)
- Proactivity and flexibility
- Upper-intermediate level of English
Responsibilities
- Design User Interface for Web, Desktop, and Mobile Apps
- Create and maintain design assets for existing applications
- Create interaction design models, including wireframes, site maps, Customer Journey Maps, mockups, and working prototypes
- Produce deliverables such as design mock-ups, prototypes, design asset,s and design documentation
- Detail your concepts based on business needs, user needs, and engineering feasibility
- Research, prototype, and design user experiences based on provided product requirements
- Craft pragmatic solutions for complex problems that stand up to rigorous testing
- Collaborate with other product managers, developers, business stakeholders, and others to deliver the best design solutions
- Being attentive to detail, an architectural approach to web/mobile design
- Presenting ideas clearly and effectively
- Participate in design feedback and critiques
- Present and articulate design decisions to design leads and product owners
- Explore and innovate new user experiences within the product
- Identify and establish design objectives for projects
- Actively seek to understand the usability impact of design solutions in qualitative/quantitative ways
- Ability to follow defined design guidelines and best practices to ensure a consistent and intuitive experience
- Preparing compatible images, sources, or guidelines for a development team
- Sketching or drawing to communicate complex visual ideas quickly
- Providing project scoping, planning, and estimation
