Requirements

  • 5+ years of managerial experience in underwriting cyber and technology E&O
  • Proven track record in leading high-performance underwriting teams
  • Experience handling a high volume of business
  • Self-motivated; entrepreneurial spirit
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, virtual environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to learn and teach technical concepts/terms
  • Proficiency in English

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of underwriters, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional growth
  • Oversee the analytical research of policyholders and risks conducted by the team
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with insurance brokers, negotiating pricing, coverages, and other terms to grow our book profitably
  • Attend in-person meetings with Business Development staff and brokers as necessary to facilitate team support
  • Develop, implement, and streamline processes for renewal business to achieve our customer service standards
  • Strategically contribute to policymaking on emerging threats, loss trends, marketplace changes, and other trends in cyber and technology risks
  • Maintain an active understanding of cyber and technology marketplaces and industry trends, imparting knowledge to the team
  • Identify and leverage areas where our unique capabilities provide a competitive advantage and support these through the development of processes
  • Collaborate with Security Engineers and guide the team in reviewing cyber and tech E&O accounts for risk assessment
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and managerial point of contact for coverage matters and endorsement drafting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships with potential broker partners
  • Management Professional Liability experience
  • Technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS is a plus
