Summary

Join Axon's Virtual & Augmented Reality team as a Principal Product Manager and help bring VR content to life, from planning and prototyping to production and launch. You will collaborate with design, art, user research, product, and engineering teams to create a high-quality VR training experience for law enforcement. This role involves planning, designing, and implementing new features; communicating with the team; creating and modifying UI; reviewing technical documents; migrating code; contributing to development strategy; participating in code reviews; troubleshooting issues; and exploring new technologies. The position is remote-friendly with the option to collaborate in person at various US R&D hubs. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience building and shipping customer facing applications in Unity
  • Exceptional C# and class design skills
  • Ability to maintain high code quality standards for long-lived projects
  • Experience collaborating with art and design teams to integrate models, animations, shaders, audio, and UI
  • Experience profiling and achieving technical, optimization, render, and implementation constraints
  • Works successfully with cross-functional teams including teams of multiple engineers and QA

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and implement a next generation feature that is a part of your current sprint
  • Communicate with the team in standup about a problem that you are prioritizing
  • Create or modify the mobile or in-VR UI while working closely with Design
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to help direct the course of the project
  • Migrate the code base to a new version of the VIVE Wave Runtime or a new version of Unity
  • Contribute to or lead the strategy of a new development pipeline
  • Participate in design, user research, and code reviews with colleagues
  • Help an engineering team member troubleshoot an issue with game physics or Hand Tracking
  • Explore the tech and perform feasibility analysis on features with the Design and PM team before they finalize a long term roadmap

Preferred Qualifications

Experience creating titles on XR platforms (HTC Vive / Hololens / Oculus / PlayStation VR) or for mobile (Android / iOS) preferred but not required
