Summary

Join SOFTGAMES as a talented and passionate Unity Game Artist - Fully Remote and contribute to the creation of a new Blast puzzle game. You will design and create visually appealing UI components, collaborate with designers and developers, create high-quality animations and visual effects, and maintain visual consistency. The role requires proven experience as a Game Artist with a focus on casual games, a strong portfolio, proficiency in Unity and relevant software, and a solid understanding of design principles. Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Game Artist, with a focus on casual (preferably puzzle) games, with at least 1 shipped game
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your skills in creating game assets, including blast or any match puzzle elements, boosters, blockers, and UI components
  • Fully proficient working with Unity
  • Proficiency in digital painting and illustration software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma)
  • Solid understanding of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to take direction and constructive feedback
  • Passion for casual games and a keen eye for engaging visual design

Responsibilities

  • Design and create visually appealing and user-friendly UI components for core gameplay including puzzle elements, boosters, blockers, and user interface (UI) components, for core gameplay, in-game events, and meta-game features
  • Collaborate closely with game designers and developers to ensure seamless integration of visual elements
  • Create high-quality animations and visual effects to enhance gameplay and user experience
  • Maintain consistency in visual style, ensuring assets are polished and aligned with the game’s overall aesthetic
  • Optimize assets for performance without compromising visual quality
  • Provide creative solutions to design challenges and iterate based on feedback from the team
  • Document and maintain style guides for UI and visual elements to ensure cohesive design across all game components
