Join Kitman Labs, a performance intelligence company transforming the sports industry's use of data, as a UX Engineer. You will be a key member of the design team, bridging the gap between design and development. Your responsibilities include refining and maintaining the design system, improving design and production processes, enhancing information architecture, and optimizing UI for performance and accessibility. You will collaborate with engineers and product teams, prototype and experiment with designs, and champion user-centered design. This role requires experience in design and front-end development, a strong understanding of design systems, and knowledge of accessibility standards. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver dedicated to creating intuitive and inclusive digital experiences.
Requirements
- Experience in both design and front-end development, with the ability to bring designs to life using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar frameworks)
- Strong understanding of design systems, component libraries, and scalable UI patterns
- Experience working with Figma or similar design tools to create and document design components
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and performance optimisation techniques
- Ability to create interactive prototypes using front-end code
- Experience working within cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with engineers and product managers
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to balance design intent with technical feasibility
- A strong user-centric approach with a dedication to creating intuitive and inclusive digital experiences
Responsibilities
- Refine & Maintain the Design System: Help scale and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency across products
- Design & Production Process Improvement: Help identify and improve areas across our design β production β release process
- Enhance Information Architecture & Navigation: Structure user flows and interactions to improve usability and reduce cognitive load
- UX Product Improvements : Work with the product team to identify and implement UX enhancements across the product
- Optimise UI for Performance & Accessibility: Ensure our interfaces meet WCAG accessibility standards, perform well across devices, and provide a seamless experience for all users
- Collaborate with Engineers & Product Teams: Work closely with developers to ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and performant in production
- Prototype & Experiment : Quickly build interactive prototypes in Figma or code to validate ideas and gather user feedback
- Champion User-Centred Design: Advocate for UX best practices and contribute to design critiques, usability testing, and research efforts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cursor, copilot, loveable or any AI development tool is a big plus
- Experience with design tokens and design system automation
- Experience with MUI component library and Storybook
- Knowledge of animation and micro-interactions for enhancing UI experiences
