UX/UI Designer

Summary

Join Verra Mobility's New Product Introduction (NPI) team as a UI/UX Designer and play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for customer-facing digital products. You will lead the entire design process, from research and conceptualization to high-fidelity interface design and implementation. This role requires collaboration with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to create intuitive and innovative interfaces. You will leverage user insights to meet both user needs and business objectives, transforming complex requirements into seamless digital experiences. The position involves conducting user research, creating design artifacts, and working closely with engineering teams for accurate implementation. Occasional travel is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on interaction design and prototyping
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, or similar
• Experience or strong enthusiasm for 0 to 1 product development, including comfort working in undefined or rapidly evolving contexts
• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in designing user interfaces and interactive prototypes
• Experience with user research, usability testing, and translating insights into design improvements
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and the ability to work closely with software engineers
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
• Knowledge of current UX design trends and technologies
• Position requires occasional travel to engage with users and participate in team meetings (approx 20% of time)

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end UX design process from start to finish, from initial user research and early sketching through final pixel-perfect Figma files and hand-offs for implementation
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and identify areas for improvement
• Create detailed design artifacts, including user flows and customer journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, low and high-fidelity designs, and responsive layouts that work across multiple device types and screen sizes
• Design and maintain a robust design system with consistent visual elements, UI component libraries, and style guides
• Partner closely with Product Managers to identify product opportunities and refine detailed product requirements
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide creative input to enhance product design and functionality
• Work intimately with engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are feasible and align with business objectives, and quickly iterate based on feedback
• Champion user-centered design principles across the organization and contribute to the development of design guidelines, best practices, and standards
• Stay at the forefront of UX/UI design trends, technologies, and best practices
• Provide support in areas of brand and visual design, ensuring consistency across various digital platforms
