Summary
Join Zoic Studios, a VFX company specializing in high-end visual effects, as their VFX Production Manager! This role involves overseeing the VFX department's operational strategy, managing daily operations, and leading departmental staff. You will collaborate with leadership, HR, and producers. The position offers a hybrid work model (in-studio one day a week, currently Mondays, with the option to work from home in BC) and is based in Vancouver, BC. This exciting new project is a stop-motion animated feature film starting in June 2024. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a production management role in feature film visual effects and a strong understanding of live-action visual effects workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ yearsβ experience in a production management role in feature film visual effects with strong understanding of live action visual effects workflows
- General understanding of techniques and methods for a stop motion animated film
- Knowledge of project management software (MS Office)
- Experience with Shotgrid production tracking and asset management database software
- Clear planning, problem solving and analytical skills. Organized and methodical in approach to work
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, great attitude, and work ethic
- Adaptable and capable of re-prioritizing according to evolving project goals
- Demonstrated experience with motivating, mentoring, and leading teams with enthusiasm
- Calm and personable under pressure and when working toward tight deadlines within a production driven environment
- All applicants must be residents of British Columbia, Canada
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada ie. Citizen, PR, Open Work Permit
Responsibilities
- Work closely with supervisors to create and manage show bid and staffing plan
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the production office
- Oversee scheduling and task management
- Oversee tracking of production quotas and actuals
- Create weekly department report for project producers and act as first point of contact
- Oversee daily communication across departments to ensure production priorities, objectives and changes are properly communicated, understood and coordinated
- Report regularly to project producers and accountants regarding any unanticipated resource requirements or expenses
- Oversee department resources including personnel, software, hardware and facilities
- Oversee VFX hiring and act as point of contact for Human Resources regarding staffing and personnel management
- Act as point of contact for Post Production Supervisor and editorial regarding all department deliverables
Benefits
- British Columbia Employees Pay Range: $45 - $55 (The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position)
- At this time, weβre pleased to offer this role as an option to work from home OR work from our Vancouver studio in the beautiful Gastown area, close to the Waterfront Station in Downtown. (Remote is not available outside of BC) Our Production team works in-studio 1 day per week, currently on Mondays.Β Work in-studio schedules may be modified to suit production needs
