Requirements

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive rotating equipment reliability experience in the chemical, refining, gas/coal, or nuclear industry
  • Rotating Equipment Knowledge: Expertise in pumps, compressors (centrifugal, reciprocating, screw), motors, and steam turbines (both special and general purpose)
  • Root Cause Analysis: Proficiency in root cause failure investigations for rotating equipment
  • Mechanical Standards: Knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, and applicable codes, standards, and specifications, such as API, ANSI and ASME
  • Communication Skills: Ability to convey technical information to cross-functional teams and non-technical personnel
  • Vibration Analysis: Experience in vibration monitoring and analysis of complex rotating machinery
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in rotating equipment reliability
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot rotating machinery deficiencies, taking full responsibility for the technical aspects of projects and providing recommendations to clients for resolving identified deficiencies
  • Apply diverse engineering knowledge to vibration assessments and mitigative strategies
  • Proactively train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and contributing to the continuous enhancement of technical project delivery methodologies and procedures
  • Provide expertise in developing test plans, and performing data acquisition / analysis for troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Certification: Registered Professional Engineer
  • Analytical Techniques: Knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis or other Root Cause Analysis methods. Familiar with machinery performance analysis including compressor / pump efficiency evaluation, motor signature analysis, vibration analysis, and hydraulic analysis
  • Maintenance Expertise: Skills in alignment, balancing, lubrication analysis, and thermography
  • Technical Oversight: Experience with vendor factory and site acceptance tests for commissioning
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and specifications (NEMA/IEEED/IEC) for rotating electrical machines
  • Preventive Maintenance: Experience with establishing preventive/predictive maintenance plans for rotating equipment
  • Condition Monitoring: Experience in development and implementation of condition monitoring programs
  • Understanding of basic instrument design and low voltage applications and operating principles as they relate to machinery monitoring and protection systems
  • Repair Recommendations: Ability to develop rotating equipment repair recommendations and provide client technical support for implementing recommendations
  • Standards Compliance: Develop Inspection, Testing, and Preventative Maintenance methodologies following client and industry standards
  • Certification: Vibration Institute CAT IV Certification

Benefits

The expected pay rate for this part-time role in Denver, CO is $70 - $115 per hour. Exact pay will be commensurate with location and experience
