Virtual Controller

Summary

Join our organization as a Controller, overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining financial systems and controls. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, GAAP, and compliance requirements
• Experience with financial management systems, accounting software
• Proven ability to manage audits, budgets, and financial reporting in a nonprofit setting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Provide analysis of financial performance and trends to senior management, board members, and other stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting standards
• Lead the annual budgeting process
• Implement, monitor, and improve internal financial controls
• Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Ensure compliance with all financial aspects of grants
• Oversee payroll processing

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification or equivalent advanced degree
• Experience with grant management and reporting
