Join Equivity's dynamic team as a virtual litigation paralegal, providing remote support for diverse cases, including employment disputes, business litigation, and contract claims. You will draft legal documents, manage complex files, prepare attorneys for hearings, and maintain professional communication with clients and colleagues. Requirements
- 3+ years of recent paralegal experience supporting attorneys in litigation, with exposure to multiple practice areas such as employment law, business/commercial litigation, real estate disputes, and federal civil matters
- Strong drafting skills and proficiency in managing discovery and pre-trial preparation
- Experience in both state and federal litigation, including familiarity with e-filing platforms (e.g., CM/ECF, state court portals)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, legal research tools, and video conferencing platforms
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and skilled at managing multiple deadlines independently
- Must have a Windows-based laptop, broadband internet, and a smartphone. (MacOS not supported.)
- Must have a quiet, professional setting for phone or Zoom meetings
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3 years of recent litigation paralegal experience
- Availability to respond to client requests within one hour, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM
- Ability to work 20–40 hours per week on an ongoing basis
Responsibilities
- Draft litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and correspondence
- Organize and manage complex litigation files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and current
- Prepare attorneys for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, including exhibit lists and witness coordination
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court staff
- Maintain deadlines, manage calendars, and handle scheduling for attorneys
- Collaborate with a remote legal team to ensure smooth workflow and case progress
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients during standard business hours (9 AM – 6 PM)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is a plus
- Familiarity with case management software such as Clio, MyCase, or similar
