Summary

Join VetsEZ as a full-time remote VistA Expert to support a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) project. This role focuses on modernizing VA applications by designing decoupling strategies and enabling data access. You will leverage your expertise in VistA and related technologies to build CI/CD pipelines and develop platforms. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, 10+ years of IT experience, and extensive knowledge of VistA. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills. Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other Engineering or technical discipline
  • Have 10+ years of experience in IT and/or Federal Government contracting
  • Demonstrate proven experience and extensive knowledge of code across VistA and VA domains, Kernel, and Fileman RPC Broker
  • Have experience with VistA options and keys, tokens, OAuth Scopes, PolicyEngine and Identity Access Management
  • Have experience with DevSecOps principles and tools including CI/CD, VS Code, VS Code extensions, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing
  • Possess familiarity with monitoring capabilities in VistA and monitoring tools/platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, etc
  • Have experience in prototyping platform capabilities
  • Have application and platform experience with FileMan, Cloud Native, Kafka, Podman, and Docker
  • Be proficient in embedded programming languages including Python and Object Script
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of successfully troubleshooting and solving complex issues
  • Be able to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with the client and team members, including experience documenting and presenting findings

Responsibilities

  • Design decoupling strategies to modernize VistA applications
  • Service enable VistA data as approved by the Health Technology Office
  • Provide systems team with VistA expertise and support in building core CI/CD pipeline capabilities
  • Work with Service Enablement team to build, design, and architect tools and platform with the Health Service Mesh
