Summary

The job is for a VP of Data Engineering at Tubi, a leading ad-supported streaming service. The role involves leading data teams, defining and implementing data governance policies, building a high-quality data engineering team, working cross-functionally with various teams to understand and deliver on their data needs, designing processes for operational excellence, and managing relationships with external vendors.

Requirements

• Experience scaling and managing 30+ person teams
• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, BI and Data Infrastructure
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Project management experience
• Data modeling and data architecture experience
• Experience with SQL, Python, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, DBT
• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical fields

Responsibilities

• Drive Tubi’s architecture and vision for our data warehouse and data infrastructure
• Define and implement policies and processes for data governance and data retention
• Build a high-quality data engineering team that scales
• Work cross-functionally with Machine Learning engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to understand and deliver on their data needs
• Design processes for operational excellence in system reliability and project management
• Design, build and launch data models, data pipelines, impactful dashboards and data visualizations in production
• Define and manage SLA’s for data infrastructure systems, datasets and processes in production
• Manage relationships and negotiations with external vendors
• Implement processes and policies for infrastructure cost containment and cost forecasting
• Partner with the Tubi infrastructure team to ensure our data infrastructure is secure and easily maintainable
