Summary

Join Agile Defense as a System Administrator I and contribute to securing and maintaining the Army’s network infrastructure. You will provide comprehensive end-user support, troubleshoot desktop issues, and manage essential network services. This role requires expertise in managing physical and virtual desktop environments and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. The position involves Tier 1 and Tier 2 helpdesk support, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues for local and remote personnel. You will also contribute to proactive systems monitoring and self-help documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support and system administration within DoD or federal IT environments.

Requirements

  • CompTia A+ or Net+
  • BS in IT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science
  • Have a strong background in desktop support and system administration, with proven expertise in managing both physical and virtual desktop infrastructures
  • Familiarity with enterprise technologies such as Active Directory, DHCP, 802.1x, and group policy management is essential
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using helpdesk ticketing systems and remote support tools, along with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • A customer-focused mindset and the ability to provide clear, effective support to both local and remote users are critical

Responsibilities

  • Operate, secure, maintain, and update both physical and virtual desktop environments to ensure consistent and reliable end-user computing services
  • Troubleshoot and repair desktop issues while also recommending enhancements to improve system performance and sustainability
  • Manage essential network services such as DHCP, 802.1x, print services, authentication protocols, and policy enforcement to maintain a secure and standardized desktop infrastructure
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 helpdesk support for local and remote GCC personnel, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues
  • Monitor desktop availability and performance, conduct trend analysis to identify areas for service improvement, and maintain a self-service knowledge portal with FAQs and user guides to empower the workforce and reduce support demands
  • Coordinate with IT and cybersecurity teams to maintain compliance with enterprise policies and industry best practices

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working in Department of Defense (DoD) or federal IT environments is highly desirable
