Writing Instructor

Summary

Join Education Unlimited® as an Online Instructor for our A+ Summer High School program! Lead engaging online classes via Zoom and Google Classroom for small groups (6) of high school students. Utilize provided curriculum materials to teach rising 9th and 10th graders how to write compelling argumentative essays. Guide students through Socratic discussions and provide personalized feedback. The program runs from July 28th to August 1st and offers a challenging yet fun learning experience for high-achieving students. Instructors will also lead a student showcase at the end of the camp and track student progress.

Requirements

• Significant writing experience
• Classroom management skills
• Supportive of student work and excited to help students improve their writing skills in the classroom and in feedback sessions
• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to teach analytical writing
• A calm and professional demeanor
• Self-motivation and follow-through
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong people skills
• A passion for education and writing

Responsibilities

• Guide students through the Education Unlimited writing curriculum
• Assist students as needed in one-on-one feedback sessions
• Lead students in a showcase at the end of camp
• Track student work and hand in any deliverables to the camp director and EU home office

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience teaching writing at the high school or college level
• MFA
