3D Modeling Intern

Summary

Join Cologix's Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) team as a 3D Modeling Intern this summer! This 12-week, part-time internship (up to 20 hours/week) offers hands-on experience in 3D scanning, mesh processing, and virtual tour/digital twin/BIM model creation. You will work closely with the DCIM team, gaining valuable insights into the practical applications of joining telemetry to data center models. The internship runs from approximately June 10th to August 30th. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented student majoring in a relevant field (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Computer Graphics) with intermediate 3D modeling skills and basic 3D scanning knowledge. Compensation is commensurate with experience, within a specified salary range.

Requirements

• Proactive and self-motivated, ability to work remotely
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Majoring in Architecture, Engineering or Construction (AEC) or Computer Graphics related program
• Intermediate understanding of 3D modeling software (AutoCAD or Revit preferred)
• Beginner understanding of 3D Scanning and surveying
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication and writing skills
• Enthusiasm for learning and taking on new challenges
• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program from an accredited college / university as a rising junior / senior
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S

Responsibilities

• Plan the scanning routes of upcoming projects
• Assist in at least one on-site scanning
• Process scanning data to create E57 files
• Create meshes and Add Points of Interest by user role
• Help manage users access to digital twins based on role
• Create Post Project Deliverables in the form of BIM models, virtual tours, BMS graphics, drawings and modeled insights
