Account Manager, SMB Sales

Summary
Join Attentive as an Account Manager, SMB Sales, and drive customer retention by managing expansion sales opportunities within our small-business customer base. You will be the primary contact for partnering with our Relationship Management Customer Success team to identify and pursue growth opportunities. This role involves prospecting, pitching, and managing the sales cycle independently, from initial outreach to contract signing. The position is remote-friendly with offices in New York and San Francisco, offering flexibility for candidates outside these areas. You will be responsible for providing accurate forecasts, conducting outbound sales activities, and negotiating pricing. This role requires strong sales experience, analytical skills, and the ability to strategically align with customer goals.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in a prospecting sales role; Sales Development, Renewals Management, Account Management, Account Executive or as an outside sales person
- Experience managing the sales cycle across Salesforce.com or other CRM
- Demonstrated experience consistently meeting and exceeding quota, with references
- Demonstrated strong competency around objection handling and creating alignment around product price/value
- Analytical account development strategy, using data to find opportunities and prove value
- Ability to think strategically about a customerβs goals and drive renewal and expansion opportunities through to close independently
- Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to define processes and build strategy
Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate weekly forecasts
- Send outbound emails and conduct cold calls to customers to drive meetings that you lead
- Steer pricing negotiations with stakeholders to uncover procurement timelines, budgets and signatory process for contracts
- Identify and pursue strategic opportunities for growth within the accounts
- Prepare and present data and trends to customers on usage and engagement of Attentive platform
- Manage customer inquiries related to commercial aspects of their Attentive agreement
- Partnering cross-functionally with Customer Success, Deal Enablement, Legal, Finance and other internal teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a SaaS, MarTech, AdTech or startup
- Email sales experience
