Join Samsara's US accounting team as an Accountant II and play a critical role in our next phase of growth. This remote role, open to candidates in Mexico only, involves performing month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will demonstrate ownership of assigned accounts and help implement process improvements. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, 3+ years of experience, and strong communication and Excel skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting
  • 3+ years relevant accounting experience
  • Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of operational accounting processes
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively
  • Intermediate Excel skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform various GL month-end close activities
  • Prepare journal entries and related account reconciliations
  • Develop relationships and work effectively with teams outside of accounting including procure-to-pay, treasury, payroll, sales compensation, order-to-cash, among others
  • Demonstrate extreme ownership of assigned accounts which may include, among others, cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, deferred commissions, marketable securities and investments, and complex bank account arrangements
  • Help implement process improvements by identifying weaknesses in the close process
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent or interest in obtaining CPA
  • Experience working under strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Must be a fast learner, multi-tasker with a strong desire to learn and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Critical thinker, able to implement scalable processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
