Summary

Join Tidal Construction, a growing commercial construction company in Florida, as their new Accounting & Financial Manager. This full-time, fully remote position requires managing all financial operations, from accounts payable and receivable to payroll and financial reporting. You will be responsible for invoice processing, bank reconciliation, financial forecasting, payroll management in Gusto, compliance and contract management, process improvements, and cross-functional support. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of relevant experience, strong accounting principles understanding, QuickBooks and Excel proficiency, and excellent communication skills. The role offers a competitive salary ($3000-$4000/month), paid time off (20 days/year), and the flexibility of remote work with a required 4-hour overlap with US Eastern Time. Requirements

  • 5 years + experience in a similar role
  • Prior or current experience working remotely supporting virtual teams
  • Someone who is a self-starter and demonstrates consistency in delivering high-quality work
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping Background: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial best practices
  • QuickBooks Expertise: Especially with QuickBooks Desktop for tracking, categorizing, and reconciling transactions
  • Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Solid skills for financial forecasting, data analysis, and report generation
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to handle financial discussions and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: Ensures accuracy in all financial records and meets deadlines efficiently
  • Time Management: Can juggle multiple financial tasks, prioritize effectively, and stay on top of key deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Handle POs, review invoices, track payments, and keep financial records up to date
  • Ensure all transactions are correctly categorized and resolve any discrepancies
  • Create forecasts, analyze overhead, and provide financial insights for better decision-making
  • Process payroll in Gusto, address payroll-related queries, and ensure accurate financial tracking
  • Manage subcontractor processes, documentation, and compliance-related tasks
  • Identify ways to streamline financial operations and enhance efficiency
  • Work with other departments to provide data-driven financial insights

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the construction industry – Understanding subcontractor processes, lien releases, and COI tracking
  • Ability to create Excel macros to automate tasks and improve efficiency
  • Knowledge of US GAAP for deeper financial understanding
  • Experience with financial modelling & ROI analysis to provide strategic insights
  • Controller-level capabilities for those interested in scaling their role over time

Benefits
