Summary
Join our team as an Accounting Specialist and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records. This remote, full-time position requires at least 4.5 hours of overlap with US Pacific time. You will manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements, and assist with monthly financial reporting. A strong accounting and bookkeeping background is essential, along with attention to detail and independent work capabilities. The role offers a competitive rate plus a 10% annual performance-based bonus. Work shift is negotiable.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or in a similar financial role (minimum 2-3 years preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
- Solid understanding of MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy in financial reporting
- Process incoming and outgoing payments, including invoices, bills, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
- Assist in processing payroll, ensuring that employees are paid correctly and on time, and handling any related deductions or tax calculations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, tracking actual expenses against budgeted figures
- Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, including sales tax, payroll taxes, and other local, state, or federal taxes as required
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) to manage financial data and generate reports
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and assisting with audit processes
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in bookkeeping (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, QuickBooks Certified User)
