Accounting Trainee

This role involves integrating AP invoices, supporting bank reconciliations and revenue accounting, reviewing documentation, and identifying discrepancies. Requirements

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or any related field
• Knowledge of SNC (Sistema de Normalização Contabilística)
• Fluent in English (written & spoken)
• Fluent in Portuguese (written & spoken)

Responsibilities

• Integrate AP Invoices, confirming that are accordingly with the budget expectations and accounting policies
• Support Bank Posting and Reconciliation
• Support Revenue Accounting
• Support Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Review if all AP documents booked in Portugal are saved in physical folders
• Responsible for keeping all the statutory documentation is saved physically and virtually
• Documentation Keeping
• Document the accounting team processes
• Identify discrepancies and work with AP to solve them
• Aging analysis
• Support reconciliation of open items with the operations team
• Supports getting information to build ad-hoc reports

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis
• Analytical Skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Problem-solving mindset and resilience to investigate and resolve discrepancies
