Accounts Payable Clerk

Summary

Join our team as an Accounts Payable Clerk, working closely with the AP Lead to process invoices accurately, efficiently, and on time. Your day-to-day tasks will include financial transactions, understanding expense accounts and GL codes, verifying and investigating discrepancies, processing freight invoices, and more.

Requirements

• Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
• Proven ability to calculate and manage accounting figures
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• Great time management and organizational skills
• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Must be reliable and trustworthy

Responsibilities

• Process outgoing payments in compliance with company policies and procedures
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
• Understands expense accounts and GL codes
• Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
• Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
• Process freight invoices such as UPS, DHL and FedEx
• Process expense reports
• Process credit card statements monthly using MS Excel
