Summary

Join Veriff's Operations & Analytics team as a player-coach to lead the Advanced Analytics team, making a significant impact by improving analytics quality and scalability. Lead a team of analytics engineers, data scientists, and data professionals to build the foundation of the analytics ecosystem. You will design core data models, define best practices, and build production-grade ML models. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into data solutions and foster a culture of excellence, autonomy, and accountability. Work closely with the Data Engineering team to ensure an impactful roadmap. This role requires significant experience in analytics and data science, proficiency in dbt and modern analytics engineering practices, and strong leadership skills.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, data science, data modeling, or a related quantitative field
  • Deep proficiency in dbt and modern analytics engineering practices
  • Strong understanding of scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data environments like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake
  • Advanced SQL skills and working knowledge of Python or R for analysis and automation
  • Proven ability to work independently, lead ambiguous problem-solving efforts, and translate data into business impact
  • Expertise in data visualization (ideally Tableau), with the ability to create intuitive, performant dashboards
  • Experience mentoring or leading a team—ideally in a player-coach capacity

Responsibilities

  • Leading a growing team of analytics engineers and data scientists within the Operations & Analytics org
  • Setting and enforcing high standards for data modeling, analytics engineering, and documentation
  • Designing and owning core, reusable data models that enable scalable reporting and insights across product, operations, and business teams
  • Defining best practices for using dbt, modular SQL, and data governance to ensure clarity and maintainability
  • Building the foundation for production-grade ML models to improve decision-making and operational efficiency
  • Collaborating closely with business and operational stakeholders to translate their needs into robust data solutions
  • Driving an impact-focused culture that prioritizes complete, accurate, and timely data assets
  • Mentoring team members and building a culture of excellence, autonomy, and accountability
  • Working closely with the Data Engineering team to ensure we are executing on an impactful roadmap oriented to our end-stakeholders’ needs
