AI Product Manager

Summary

Join ParetoHealth as a strategic, entrepreneurial AI Product Manager to spearhead the company's AI vision. You will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and delivering AI-powered capabilities, starting with underwriting and expanding to other areas. This role involves collaborating with data, engineering, and operations teams to ensure the AI roadmap aligns with business needs. You will drive smarter risk selection, uncover process automation opportunities, and enhance customer experience. Success involves uncovering high-impact AI use cases, improving data usage, delivering AI-enabled products, and fostering a culture of AI literacy. The ideal candidate has a product-driven approach, technical understanding of AI/ML, business acumen, strong communication skills, and a curious, self-starting nature.

Requirements

• Product-driven: You’ve led the creation of AI/ML-enabled products from vision to launch and iteration
• Technically conversant: You can hold your own in discussions on LLMs, predictive modeling, NLP, and vector databases—even if you're not the one coding
• Business-minded: You’re laser-focused on how AI drives value, and how to measure that impact
• Communicative & collaborative: You make complex ideas clear, and you build trust across technical and non-technical teams
• Curious & self-starting: You don’t wait for a roadmap—you write it
• 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years delivering AI/ML-powered tools
• Demonstrated experience with unstructured data challenges and automation

Responsibilities

• Shape the AI Strategy in Underwriting
• Define and validate AI use cases that improve group risk selection and pricing, and empower Underwriters to make smarter decisions
• Evaluate feasibility, build vs. buy tradeoffs, and prioritize opportunities based on where we can get the most value
• Work with actuarial, underwriting, and data teams to scope opportunities from end to end, and then with all teams necessary to roll projects out
• Build and Lead the Execution Engine
• Stand up and lead a lean AI product team (internal or vendor-based) to deliver against your roadmap
• Own the backlog, sprint planning, and delivery timelines for AI projects
• Implement controls, evaluation methods and policies to ensure outputs meet compliance, accuracy, and business quality standards
• Scale AI Literacy and Use Cases Across the Organization
• Act as the company’s internal AI evangelist and subject matter expert
• Partner with stakeholders across the business - including Product, Operations, and Cost Containment to identify and develop new AI opportunities—including automation, document ingestion, and intelligent workflows
• Bring a practical mindset to innovation—making AI accessible and accountable to business users

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to underwriting, insurance, or healthcare analytics (strongly preferred)
