Summary

Join Clean Power Alliance (CPA) as an Analyst, Power Supply & Compliance! This role supports the Power Supply team's resource adequacy compliance efforts and other environmental product-related compliance functions. You will assist with preparing compliance reports, maintaining tools for resource adequacy and renewable energy monitoring, and managing renewable energy credits. The position involves collaboration with various teams and consultants, contributing to CPA's clean energy goals. This is a hybrid or remote position offering a competitive salary and benefits package. The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor's degree, at least two years of relevant experience, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Requirements

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree & at least 2 years of experience in energy compliance (such as RPS, RA), energy trading, regulatory, market operations, or planning

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing various Resource Adequacy compliance reports, including monthly and annual filings and external data requests
  • Stay informed of state, local, and federal regulatory policies and actions that impact energy and Resource Adequacy capacity procurement and reporting
  • Assist with the development and ongoing maintenance of tools and systems related to resource adequacy, renewable energy, and carbon-free position monitoring, in coordination with CPA’s scheduling coordinator, front, mid, and back-office functions
  • This includes working with the mid-office to build functionality to extract information from internal systems to assist with compliance reporting
  • Assist with the preparation and management of various environmental and emissions compliance reports, including Power Content Label, Power Source Disclosure, Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) Compliance, RPS Procurement Plans, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reporting, Green-e and The Climate Registry and other data requests
  • Assist with the acceptance, transfer, and management of Renewable Energy Credit (REC) deliveries both in the Western Renewable Energy Generation Information System (WREGIS) and in CPA’s internal tracking system
  • Support CPA Settlements’ reconciliation of REC and carbon-free invoicing
  • Provide support for origination of compliance and environmental products – Resource Adequacy, RECs, carbon-free (large hydro), and California Carbon Allowances (CCAs)
  • Provide support for RFO offer intake, processing and selection for long-term contracting efforts, including assessing potential project sites for environmental impacts, compliance and other evaluation criteria
  • Prepare effective reports and presentations for management and Board communications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in CAISO or North American electricity markets is a plus
  • Degree in finance, economics, environmental science, business administration, or mathematics preferred
  • Experience with data analysis tools like R, Python and SAS is a plus
  • CCA experience is a plus
