Join Avetta's Strategic Analytics Team as a Senior Analytics Consultant! You will leverage your expertise to help clients understand their key business metrics, build custom dashboards using our data and analytics platform, and guide them in making key business decisions using data storytelling. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a client-first attitude. You will collaborate with various teams, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the development of Avetta's data literacy. The ideal candidate possesses 3-5+ years of experience in a Data/BI Analyst role and a strong understanding of data structures and design. Requirements
- 3-5+ years in a Data/BI Analyst or Business Intelligence role, experience with a premier BI consulting firm, a major enterprise applications SaaS firm, or a BI software vendor is a plus
- Experience in other BI tools such as PowerBI, Sisense, Tableau, Qlik, MicroStrategy, Business Objects or other will be considered
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Math, Computer Science or related field of study is preferred
Responsibilities
- Help clients understand where they should be going in the future
- Lead and participate in client-facing and internal meetings, such as scoping sessions, project kickoffs
- Use professional and expert methods for eliciting client needs, based on current practices
- Work with clients to build a vision for what their requirements could/should be in future
- Apply Avetta subject matter expertise to help clients build that future state vision
- Deliver quality and creative solutions to clients’ analytical needs
- Document and gain agreement with clients around the scope of work to be performed
- Use modern collaboration tools that allow communication of expectations, progress on timelines, and status of completion of milestones and deliverables
- Develop and distribute deliverables (draft, and final versions, of reports, analysis and dashboards) for clients, in a high quality, digital manner
- Align client needs (current, and future projected) with product, engineering and professional services team goals
- Build Avetta’s data literacy through careful and disciplined data stewardship
- Identify problematic data/data structure and provide input on ideas to correct
- Identify data management process improvement opportunities and work with key stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions
- Consistently and visibly document such observations in appropriate feedback systems in alignment with engineering, and client management processes
- Assumes a supporting role in data stewardship, making data validation, a continuous improvement to ensure accurate reporting
- Continuously and visibly work to standardize, measure, automate, improve cost to serve clients with a view to scaling the business
- Develop the practice

- Use agile methods, using modern work management and collaboration tools (eg., Confluence, Jira, Teams) allowing work to be prioritized and transparent
- Document technical and business knowledge/findings and contribute to corporate knowledge management
- Use expert data story-telling to advance Avetta’s mission
- Develop subject expertise and train other in the data and analytics that support Avetta with respect to Clients, Suppliers, and Workforce
- Build and maintain an active social presence, building an audience that regards you as an emerging expert in your field
- Partner with other teams to participate in events that promote the Avetta way through the use of data and analytics, and impactful storytelling
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of data structures and design, especially RDBMS-based data concepts and fluency with SQL
- Understanding of data transformation and data engineering, allowing for the ability to reshape data to suit analysis purposes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify appropriate analytical approaches based on the client request or business need
- Curiosity and drive to find answers in the data, along with the ability to formulate a data-substantiated picture
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and provide validation of results
- Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities effectively, track documentation and deliverables in an organized manner
- Client-facing consultative interaction skills to elicit customer needs and build customer trust
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, Enterprise Risk Management, Supply Chain
- Experience with SalesForce reporting and analytics
- Data engineering skills, and related languages/tools such as PowerQuery, Python, Snowpipe, or other means of transforming data to suit analytical needs
- Experience with Snowflake toolset. SnowPro certification would be a plus
- Experience using Jira or similar ticketing system to manage product backlogs
- Experience using Confluence to build wiki and display reports
- Exposure to or familiarity with an Agile or Scrum based methodology
- Exposure to non-relational databases, NoSQL/MongoDB
- BI / Analytics Software training or certifications
